Facial Animation
Welcome to this section!!!! Facial animation is a section that I have wanted to teach for a long time. Your movies will take on a whole new dimension of excellence when the characters in you film begin to speak and have visible facial emotion. You will learn to manipulate Facial controls, record sounds, import them into Maya and animate a face no only speaking the part but emoting it as well.

The File you need
This is a character made and distributed by Ramtin for free on the internet. It has been professionally rigged and gives you the features that beginning animators need. Animating is not nearly as difficult as it can be if you are using a substandard sub-quality rig

Phonemes
Phonemes are the faces and position of our lips and mouth that we make to construct a sounds for individual letters.
For example say the letter "V" or "F". When you do this... you will bite and drag your bottom lip out from between upper and lower teeth dragging it across the bottom edge of your top row.
The next big noticeable Phoneme is to say the letter "M" or B". "M" creates a face where you will curl both of your lips to cover the teeth and wind up with them inside your mouth. TRY IT!!! "B" is the opposite movement. You start off with both lips inside of your mouth curled around your teeth and then let them go with a slight puff of sound.
The two examples above are the most extreme Phonemes out there but there are others.
For example "O" and "W" (when saying a word like "woman") has you make a face where your lips are pursed or sueezed together to make your lips into a shape that looks like an "O" or a circle.
These are the biggest and most extreme examples of Phonemes. Below I have a chart that displays the Phonemes for most every single letter. Please refer to this guide. It is the one that I grew up with
