Motion Capture

In this section You are going to learn the ins and outs of operating a Motion capture machine.

We have and use a VICON Motion capture mnachine here in my lab

There are a number of different Motion capture machines on the market. I chose Vicon motion capture for a number of reason.
     1. They are the oldest company in the business (time = experience)
     2. They are the most predominantly used system
 in Hollywood
     3. They are the most predominantly used system in Video Game companies
     4. They are viewed as the Cadillac/Mercedes Benz in the industry.... yup I am sold

Whether you have access to a lab like this or not, it is valuable for you to know how to work with a system like this if you want to be in industry yourself.

Step by step process of working MoCap

     1. Get a character ready for MoCap which includes
          Model a character
          Texture the character
          Rig it
          Smooth Skin it
     2. Put the suit and sensors on (correctly)
     3. Record Motion Capture
     4. Edit the captures
     5. Video game or Movie integration

Sound like much yet? You don't know the half of it BUT YOU WILL
