Controls
Having a Character ready to animate means a whole lot more than just hooking a body (Model) and a Skeleton (Rig) together. If you want to be able to actually animate the character easily, you need the ability to access and control the character easily.
To have access to our characters rig you need controls. These controls are then hooked to the rig to make it move and animate. The controls need to have some very very important qualities to them tho....
1. They need to be easily seen and selectable
2. They need to be invisible to our audience (just in case we forget to hide them)
3. They need to be powerful and transformable in functionality
4. They need to be bullet proof and work every single time that I use them
