Abstract

I first learned about Abstract Expressionism when I was art student in College. Abstract Expressionism is famously the most hated movement of art. It originally started because of World War II. Artists of the time were coming out of some of the most horrendous event that they could imagine. Mass genocide of entire people groups, Violence and bloodshed on a scale not imaginable to previous generations, newly implemented weapons of mass destruction on a level that no one had ever seen before.... Artists being emotional creatures could not be content to paint pretty pictures displaying the beauties of this world while they were surrounded by chaos and mayhem.

So they painted and made art from what they knew best..... Thus Abstract Expressionism was born. Artists began to produce works of art that were non-subjective. At their core they are the best examples of Design/Composition and Color theory that we can find.

In the video series you will produce, with me, an Abstract image. There is no image to start of with because we are going to produce this image from scratch.

Tools used/stuff to be learned

We will be using both Marquette tools, all of the Pen tools, Paint Bucket and Gradient tool. We will also be using the Liquefy filter to enable some really amazing effects, along side of Edit Free Transform.

We will utilizing Color theory, great Design and Composition. Without these three concepts you are not bound to produce an Aesthetically pleasing image.

By the end of this lesson you will be able to make from scratch and an amazing image, using masterful manipulation!!!

There is no image to start off with
